Great occasion

By NewarkAdvertiser Reporter

I would like to express my thanks for a wonderful morning at the 50th anniversary of the Willie Hall Cup final.

Being involved in the first final and being fortunate enough to score a hat-trick, made this year’s final very special and brought back many memories.

I would like to thank Dennis Rawle, who worked hard at organising the event, and Keith Arnold for making me and my family so welcome. Also thanks to the superb match officials, who never put a foot wrong in the match.

Congratulations to Newark Town Sunday side for completing a remarkable treble and commiserations to Witham Wanderers. They played with a lot of talent and heart.

Last but not least, thank you to Advertiser reporter Rick Lane for finding photos from the first final that nobody knew existed. Top research and reporting. — Tell Boschetto, Balderton. (Full address supplied).
