Newark Stop Hate Crime to hold disability awareness drop-in event
Newark Stop Hate Crime will be hosting a drop-in event for people with disabilities next week.
The group is working with Nottingham Mencap and Nottinghamshire County Council to raise awareness of how to respond to disability hate crime.
People are invited to Cleveland Square Community Centre on Wednesday (March 16) to take part in a variety of activities, including badge-making, poster-making, and a quiz.
Nottinghamshire Police will also be attending in the afternoon.
The event has been funded by the county’s police and crime commissioner, Caroline Henry, the county council and the Safer Nottinghamshire Board.
Refreshments will be provided throughout the day, including lunch for those who confirm their attendance at newarkstophatecrime@gmail.com
Newark Stop Hate Crime will use the event to launch their annual poster and video competition with a closing date of Friday, October 7.
