Reader’s letter: Half-full bin means half tip

I would imagine I am one of the ever dwindling generation who always give Christmas tips, ie, to the postman and to those who do the refuse bin collections.

But today, August 22, they made it possible for me to reduce my Christmas tip expenditure by half by not emptying my grey bin.

No word of explanation, just a half-full bin.

My wife said it was probably that I had inadvertently put a black plastic bin bag on top of my grey refuse bin.

However, no word of explanation, just as bin as half full as when I put it out at 7am.

Still, never mind, you have saved me another £10.

The old saying of not biting the hand that feeds you springs to mind.
