GSCE results 2021: Excitement in the air as Tuxford Academy students receive their results




There was excitement in the air as students at Tuxford Academy were rewarded for their hard work and dedication.

Among the high achievers was Will Allan, of Averham, who gained five grade 9s, one grade 8 and two grade 7s.

He said: “I am so proud of my results, my hard work has really paid off.”

Will is planning to returning to the academy to study chemistry, biology, geography and maths at A-level.

Hard work paid off too for Ellie Cawston, of Walesby, who secured eight grade 9s, one grade 8 and an A*.

Ellie is considering a return to Tuxford to study A-levels in geography, business, psychology and core maths.

She said: “Really pleased with my results and that my hard work has paid off. I am excited to start my A-levels now.”

Isaac Bee, of Little Carlton, was delighted with his results after getting four grade 9s, three grade 8s and a 7.

He is planning on returning to continue his studies at Tuxford Academy Post-16 Centre and said: “I opened the envelope and just saw all the 9s, they were better than I expected. I am really pleased, as I was quite nervous, but I’m ok now.”

Mr Jon Hardy, principal at Tuxford Academy said: “I am very proud to see the hard work and dedication of our students and staff pay off today, especially considering the obstacles that they have had to overcome over the past 18 months.

"Watching the way in which our students have adapted and risen to each new challenge has been inspiring, and I look forward to seeing many of them back here in September as they take the next steps on their educational journeys.”
