The Nottingham building society donated to Framework to celebrate the launch of their new Bridge Street branch
Hats, scarves and gloves were donated to a homelessness charity by The Nottingham building society to mark its move to new premises.
To celebrate moving to Bridge Street, Newark, The Nottingham invited Framework, a charity that provides accommodation for the homeless, along.
Representatives from Russell House, Framework’s Newark hostel, received the clothing accessories, which customers of the Nottingham had collected.
“We donated a full box, a suitcase and a backpack full,” said Sophie Blackman, the Newark branch manager.
“Customers were donating items for two months and the generosity they have shown during that time has been incredible.
“Some customers have requested we do it again next year, but with coats and jumpers.”
Leicester Tigers and England rugby legend Dusty Hare, who lives locally, attended the launch and welcomed the public in with a festive drink and mince pies.
Sophie Blackman has extended an invitation to Russell House to hold meetings in their community hub area, and also urged book clubs and other small societies to use their facilities.
