Aarsleff has raised more than £1,100 for Emmaus Trust

MORE than £1,100 has been donated by a Newark-based company to a charity’s healthy living programme, writes Ben Lynch.

Aarsleff Ground Engineering gave the money to Newark Emmaus Trust, a charity supporting vulnerable, homeless young people aged between 16 and 25, and their children aged five and under.

The chief executive of the Newark Emmaus Trust, Nikki Burley, said: “It is amazing to have support from local companies such as Aarsleff for our healthy living programme.

“With it, we can help more homeless young people create friendships and reduce the feeling of isolation due to their circumstances, as well as provide them with the encouragement to take up a healthier and active lifestyle.”

The trust’s healthy living programme aims to provide homeless young people with exercise classes and activities, but needs funds to continue the exercise classes.

It is estimated that Aarsleff’s donation will provide six parents with 20 weeks of swimming classes and 40 weeks of fortnightly yoga classes.
