Highfields Independent School, based on London Road, Newark, seeking help to buy a new minibus swith GoFundMe fundraising page
A school is seeking help raising funds to replace their old minibus.
Highfields School, based on London Road, Newark, is hoping to buy a new minibus as the existing minibus is in need of retirement.
The aim is to find a replacement that all of the school’s teachers can drive, in the hopes of enhancing their ability to support students' extracurricular activities.
Currently only a person with a Certificate D1 license can drive the existing minibus and less than five members of the schools' staff hold one of these licenses.
The school say that more drivers mean more opportunities for its children to participate in away days, sports events, and excursions.
The Friends and Family of Highfields group has already raised £15,000 towards the cost.
However, the school are still in need of a further £25,000 to secure a minibus for future trips.
Highfields head, Sarah Lyons, said: “Highfields Independent school is a small charity so we never accrue a significant surplus and our current school minibus is ready for retirement.
“To raise funds for a new minibus, our wonderful parents have been raising money through a number of fantastic events and have also set up a GoFundMe page to seek further donations.
“We look forward to having our new minibus so we can go on even more great trips with the children to enhance learning.”
