Floral tributes to The Queen can be left at the war memorial by Newark Parish Church from today, details of services and a reminder the bell will toll
A lone Newark Parish Church bell will chime 96 times, one for every year of the The Queen's life from noon today.
The Parish Church of St Mary Magdalene will be open daily from 9am until 3pm during the period of mourning to sign books of condolence, light a candle and say a prayer in memory of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
All floral tributes are welcome in the war memorial garden (to the east of the church building).
Tonight at 5pm there will be a short service of prayer and reflection to which everyone is invited.
On Sunday, the normal service pattern will continue, however, the service at 11.15am will be a special Service of Commemoration for the life of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
Sunday's Battle of Britain Memorial commemoration has been cancelled, which had been due to feature The Band of RAF College Cranwell, has been cancelled in line with military and civic protocols.
Floral Tributes can be left around the War Memorial adjacent to Appletongate (at the rear of St Mary’s Church).
All floral tributes will be collected the day after the funeral and will be composted. The church therefore asks that no plastic wrappers are included to allow for ease of composting.
There will be a dedicated service on Sunday, September 18, the details of which will be confirmed in due course.
