A617 closed between Kelham and Newark due to rising water levels

A major road has been closed due to high water levels.
The A617 is closed between the Fox Inn, at Kelham, and Cattle Market roundabout, Newark, due to rising water levels.
A diversion is in place via the A616 through Little Carlton.
Newark and Sherwood District Council is maintaining a watch on river levels at the Colwick Gauge and monitoring the situation.
Rising water levels in tributaries of the River Trent caused concern over the weekend but appear to have stabilised.
