Hollywood actor and musician Johnny Depp has been invited to a Steampunk shopping event at Petit Versailles on Stodman Street, Newark
Hollywood actor and musician Johnny Depp has been invited to a Steampunk event at a renowned dressmaker in Newark.
Designer and seamstress, Hajra Kemari, owner of Petit Versailles on Stodman Street, Newark is launching her Steampunk collection over a weekend event.
On Saturday, November 11 and Sunday, November 12 from 11am to 4pm, the shop will be part of Steampunk world.
From hats, corsets, jacks, and shirts to accessories including feathers, glasses, and watches, there will be a bit of Steampunk for everyone and their taste.
“I have grown an interest in the group and their clothes and now being more involved with the Newark Steampunk Society I thought of doing something Steampunk related so this event is to launch our new collection dedicated to the Steampunk society and the people who are interested and passionate about it,” said Hajra.
The shop owner sent a lot of emails inviting the actor Johnny Depp who is said to be part of the Steampunk community and to be living in England at present.
The shop owner added: “We would love him to come here, we haven’t got a reply confirming his presence yet and I know I am dreaming big, but we never know do we?”
People can confirm their presence at the event at https://www.facebook.com/events/1518994002225048?ref=newsfeed.
Despite being a collection dedicated to the Steampunk community, everyone from the general public is invited to attend.
“Steampunk is without a doubt a good investment for Newark, they come from all over the country and even me and Sofia (her sister) will be dressing up for the weekend, I’m working on the final bits of our costumes,” said Hajra.
