Homes in Scarrington, near Bingham, are without water after a pipe burst this morning
Homes in the Scarrington area, near Bingham, have been without water, or had low water pressure, since early this morning, after a water pipe burst.
Hawksworth Road in the village has been closed while work is carried out to repair the 315mm pipe.
A statement from Severn Trent Water said: "You might notice our teams working in the area today due to the burst water pipe on Hawksworth Road.
"We’re working as fast as we can to restore water supplies for all of our affected customers.
"We’ve also had to close Hawksworth Road to ensure our teams can work safely and we’ll aim to keep any traffic disruption to a minimum.
"You’ll see our large water tankers out and about helping to support our repair team whilst the work takes place and we’ll be delivering bottled water out soon to our most vulnerable customers."
The problem was first reported at about 6am.
