"We’re working as fast as we can to restore water supplies for all of our affected customers.

"We’ve also had to close Hawksworth Road to ensure our teams can work safely and we’ll aim to keep any traffic disruption to a minimum.

"You’ll see our large water tankers out and about helping to support our repair team whilst the work takes place and we’ll be delivering bottled water out soon to our most vulnerable customers."

The problem was first reported at about 6am.
