Christmas joy at Newark Hospital, run by NHS Sherwood Forest Hospital Trust, with donation to Newark Food Bank, carol singing by Holy Trinity Primary School pupils and fundraising from Friends of Newark Hospital group.
The festive season is a busy time for most and it’s been no different over at Newark Hospital.
At lot has been happening in the run up to Christmas at the hospital, run by NHS Sherwood Forest Hospital Trust, including all departments making a contribution to the Newark Food Bank’s appeal.
The donations which will go towards helping struggling families in the area over the festive period.
Skanska Maintenance Engineer, Lee, used his own time to creates a magical Christmas garden at the hospital.
The Friends of Newark Hospital group presented him with a thank you gift for his fantastic efforts.
The Friends of Newark Hospital have also been hard at work in their own right and have raised an incredible £3046.50 by holding a Christmas raffle, tombola and craft stall.
The group has also managed to gather gifts so that inpatients at the hospital on Christmas Day will each receive a present.
Schoolchildren from Holy Trinity Primary School have also been spreading some Christmas cheer to patients.
The pupil sang carols and helped to raise the spirits of many patients, visitors and staff.
It’s going to be a busy year for the hospital in 2024, with plans for the Urgent Treatment Centre being finalised and the development of a new car park to make parking easier for staff and visitors.
