Organist Mrs Anne Wynne (pictured) played a variety of music for six hours during a sponsored organ recital at All Saints’ Church, Collingham, on Saturday.

The event, the first of its kind in the village, raised £1,000 for The Flush Fund, a project to provide toilets for the disabled at two of Collingham’s churches.

Churchwarden Mrs Pat Wragg said many people visited to request their favourite hymn and to sit and listen.

She said: “It was fabulous. People responded outstandingly.”

A total of £60,000 is needed to provide toilets at All Saints’ and at St John The Baptist Church.

About £45,000 has been raised so far and work has started at St John.

A black-tie dinner and auction in aid of The Flush Fund takes place at Collingham Memorial Hall on November 8.
