Sherwood and Newark Citizens Advice give advice on how to save money on energy bills
Advice on how to save money on your energy bills has been issued by Citizens Advice Sherwood and Newark.
A spokesman said: “We are living in uncertain times and saving money is important.
“Keeping your home warm shouldn’t cost a fortune and saving money on your energy bills can make a big difference.
“Last year the big energy saving winter campaign saw thousands of people across England and Wales save over £1m on their energy bills.”
The organisation has encouraged residents to see if it is possible to:
- Apply for discounts, grants or support.
- Switch tariff or supplier to get the best deal through their internal comparison site.
The spokesman said people could save hundreds of pounds a year if they made their home more energy efficient.
This can be done in simple ways, such as not leaving appliances on standby and always turning off the light when leaving a room.
