Newark teenager feels her life changed after acne treatment at Beautiful You Emporium, Castlegate, Newark

A teenager can now leave the house with confidence for the first time in years after successful treatment for her acne.

Lily-Rose Bacon, 18, of Newark, had suffered with the condition for six years.

Not only was it painful, but she also struggled to leave the house because she was ashamed of her face and scars.

“I felt I could not go out anywhere without make-up. Every single day I would have thick make-up on,” she said.

“Sometimes I wouldn’t go out because it was so bad that the make-up wouldn’t cover it. I would cry to my mum and my sister and it just really affected my confidence.”

In desperation, Lily tried dozens of different skin-care treatments but it wasn’t until her mum found Beautiful You Emporium on Castle-gate, Newark, that she found professional help.

“When I went to Sharan I couldn’t believe the results I was getting from the treatments — it was like a miracle.

“Now, I feel confident just doing my skincare routine, put sunscreen on and leave the house.

“It just feels so good being given back my confidence.”

The treatments Lily is doing at Beautiful You Emporium are D. Platon for skin breakouts and microneedling to remove the scars.

The teenager is going to university this year and shared how excited she is to have a fresh start.

“If I could give advice to the past me I would tell myself to have the confidence to just be me in my own skin because I am still the same person, it is just the outside that has changed,” she said.

“I would tell myself to be more confident and to not feel like I have to put on lots of makeup to cover myself up.

“It’s easier said than done but you have to ignore people who are going hate on you. Be confident in yourself because even if your skin is perfect, they will always find something to be not very nice about.”
