Artists have been given the chance to display their work in an exhibition at a Bingham show home.

A range of work, produced by 32 artists, is on display at the house on Redrow Homes’ Mill Hill development off Mallow Way.

The developer is working in partnership with the Bingham-based interior designers, Bo And Jangles, which has provided bespoke furniture and other items.

The artwork includes paintings, sculptures, ceramics and items such as mirrors, coasters and a kitchen clock.

Among those with pieces on display is artist and illustrator Miss Charlotte Thomson (23) who works from Saxon Way, Cotgrave.

Miss Thomson is well known for creating retro and vintage- inspired art and design.

She specialises in creating fun and evocative images.

Her work is highly influenced by the fashions and imagery of eras, including the 1940s and 1950s.

Miss Thomson’s work has been exhibited internationally and has been featured in publications such as Artists And Illustrators magazine and the art book All Allure.

Miss Thomson has produced six pieces for the exhibition. Her main piece, which is in the master bedroom, is an acrylic on canvas painting of a lady in a corset.

She said she admired the work of the other artists and was delighted with the look of the exhibition.

She said: “It isn’t something I have done before. It looks fantastic.

“It is really nice for people to see it in the home setting.

“I’m really pleased with how it turned out.”

Another exhibiting artist is Miss Lora Redman (27) of Devon Lane, Bottesford, a part-time art and design teacher at Grantham College.

She produces her own artwork for galleries and exhibitions, as well as illustrations for a range of areas, including editorial and greeting cards.

Miss Redman is displaying three mixed-media illustrations in Bingham.

She said: “I think it is a very good idea. It is very nice to see the work in that setting. It makes it a bit more accessible.”

The creative director of Bo And Jangles, Mrs Christine Williams, of Thoroton, has provided two of her own paintings for the exhibition in the empty three-bedroom home.

Mrs Williams said the exhibition had proved popular.

She said: “This is a fantastic collaboration and a novel way to introduce the work of local artists to a wider audience of potential customers.

“We hope the exhibition will help Redrow customers appreciate the beauty that individually-designed art could bring to their own new home, as an alternative to the mass-market items available on the high street.”

Opening hours are 10am-5.30pm, Thursday to Monday.
