Independent Newark businesses to offer exclusive deals this Saturday to help boost local economy

Independent businesses in Newark will be offering exclusive deals on Saturday in a bid to entice more customers through their doors and encourage them to shop locally.

More than 40 retailers have come together to encourage more shoppers into the town centre to support local businesses post-covid.

One of the organisers, Laura Cook, of Kingsman Interiors, said: “We are promoting a Newark open day showcasing the independent retailers within the town.

“Newark’s a lovely place and we have lovely shops to celebrate that other places don’t have, but I don’t think people realise what’s out there.”

Thousands of maps have been printed ahead of the event to outline which businesses will be involved and what offers are available for that day only.

In addition to the offers there will also be give-aways and a family trail.

A competition will also be held by #ShopNewark and the lucky winner will receive a day’s worth of prizes, including a £100 Lace Boutique voucher, £100 Masdings voucher, £100 Kingsman Interiors voucher, £50 voucher on either Frechic or Homeware at Emma Jayne Home, and a £100 Giles & Bella voucher.

The winner will also receive a breakfast at the Bean & Vine, champagne from Ann et Vin and lunch at the Loft & Carriages.

The businesses hope that the day will encourage people not only back into the town centre for the day but for weeks to come.
