The Gusto House in Collingham was visited by the new Nottinghamshire Lord-Lieutenant




A state-of-the-art, multi-functional building has received a visit from the new Nottinghamshire Lord-Lieutenant.

Gusto House in Collingham, which was only an idea 10 years ago became fully operational in January this year, it includes a coworking space, a modern gym and a comprehensive events programme.

The initially opened in the summer of 2023, with the coworking space and a plant-based cafe — The Allotment Kitchen — however, the cafe announced closure earlier this month.

The new Lord-Lieutenant of Nottinghamshire, Veronica Pickering visited the business after talks with the chairman, Steff Wright about the Kings Award for Enterprise.

Veronica Pickering is visiting companies that are involved with the award, to learn more about the businesses that aim to be the businesses of the future.

“We are all really pleased to be seen as one of these progressive businesses of the Kings Award and meeting her and hearing her progressive ideas was really useful and good for us.

“They want the economy to grow and she’s seeing the high-growth businesses of the future.”

The award is for outstanding achievement by UK businesses in the categories of innovation, international trade, sustainable development and promoting opportunity through social mobility.

As part of her visit, Veronica also visited the new Collingham Shed facility which was built by Gusto Construction.

The group was originally composed by mainly retired men and was Called Men in Sheds, operating out of an Old shed in Gusto Constructions yard.

Since the move, the number of members has grown to over 50 with a mix of men women, young and old.

The group repairs and works wooden and metal furniture, clocks and stained glass windows alongside making a range of new wooden products for the community.
