Inquest opens into death of Rosemary Macandrew who died at Waitrose carpark on Ossington Way, Newark




An inquest has opened into the death of a woman who died after a collision in a supermarket carpark.

Rosemary Macandrew, asked by her family to be referred to as Rose, died on July 5 in Ossington Way, Newark.

Rose was pronounced dead at the scene a short time after emergency services were called to Waitrose, after an incident involving a car and two pedestrians.

The 61-year-old, of Newark, was identified by her son Anthony Macandrew.

Today’s hearing was told that following the post-mortem, the provisional cause of death was chest injuries.

Coroner Nathanael Hartley gave his sincere condolences to the family and all those who cared for Rose.

The inquest will be resumed at a later date after further evidence is gathered.
