Inspector Heather Sutton, District Commander for Newark and Sherwood, offers reassurance to Edwinstowe residents after woman’s death

The district commander for Newark and Sherwood has offered reassurance to residents as the investigation into a woman’s death continues.

The woman was found at a property at Edwinstowe on Wednesday at around 3pm.

Inspector Heather Sutton said: “I understand that hearing about an unexplained death can be concerning for residents.

"We are still working to establish the circumstances around the death and we will need to wait for the results of the post-mortem examination, which can take time.

"I would like to reassure people that at this time, I have no concerns about the safety of people Edwinstowe.”

Officers are at the scene and detectives are currently investigating the circumstances of the death at a house on Birkland Drive.
