Jamie Brown ready to open JB Fitness, on Hawton Lane, Newark
After turning his attentions to a career as a personal trainer after his footballing career ended, a Newark fitness enthusiast has set up shop.
Jamie Brown is ready to open the doors of his own gym in January, JB Fitness, on Hawton Lane, developing his 20 years of personal training experience.
A sporty lad since his schooling days, Jamie excelled at sprinting and football and even played professionally for National League side Hereford F.C.
But after his career ended through injury, Jamie became a personal trainer and joined the former Fitness First gym.
He then set up a studio at LA Fitness in Newark in 2011, but decided last year that with his own knowledge and expertise, he could open up his very own gym.
And now Jamie is set to open JB Fitness, with an open day on Saturday January 4, 2025, between 10am to 4pm to show what his business can offer Newark and beyond.
“It’s a fun environment where people can work hard and in a relaxed space to get the results they want,” he said of his gym’s experience.
“Everyone is accepted and welcome whether they are fitness beginners or experienced athletes, and we have training plans for everyone.”
JB Fitness, a Hyrox-accredited gym, will offer a range of fitness classes including early morning sessions to fit in around people’s working day, including Pilates, boot camp, core strength, kettle ball, weights, and cardio.

Jamie is also offering a six-week challenge, which includes a specialised diet plan, 18 training sessions, and access to all of his fitness classes.
