LEARN MORESTRAY’S Café in Middlegate, Newark hosted its annual Jazzy Carols concert on Sunday.
For a third year, it raised money for the Sam White Legacy.
Stray’s regularly hosts jazz events, and was the ninth year it held the jazzy carols afternoon.
Floor supervisor Katie Bonser said: “The initial idea was brought on by the fact we already offered live jazz — Jazzy Carols grew from that.
“The band for the night is mostly made up from our in-house band.”
Event organiser Charmaine Fenton said: “It’s fun, it’s relaxed, and it’s a good start to Christmas."
Charmaine lived on the same street as Sam, and was the one who suggested the event raised funds for the charity.
The local connection was a key point for Charmaine, who said: "A lot of people knew Sam — it's a cause close to their hearts."
The Sam White Legacy, founded after Sam’s death in 2013, raises money to support research and treatments for brain tumours in young people, as well as providing respite breaks for families.
