Stands were packed to the rafters as the racing began just after 2pm. People leaped from their picnic chairs as the galloping of hooves thundered past towards an exciting photo-finish in the second race with horse, Mazyuna, ridden by Daniel Muscutt narrowly beating out three other horses to the line.

Once the racing had finished, all eyes were on the eagerly anticipated Style Awards.

Hundreds of fashionable women entered the competition, showcasing a range of elegant outfits from vintage cuts to modern chic and everything in between.

Ladies had their photos taken on arrival, which were then reviewed by the judging panel, who had a hard time narrowing down the picks to just three finalists.

On winning she said: "I'm so surprised, it's amazing. I've done beauty pageants before, but never anything like this.

"I wanted to go all out and the dress was handmade especially for today, I thought I'd just go for something a little different and hopefully stand out with the flowers."

For taking home first place in the style awards Caitlin was awarded with a £500 cheque and a bottle of champagne.

"It's been a great day out, enjoying the weather with friends, seeing everyone's amazing outfits but I only won about £10 on the horses. I guess I've won a bit more than that now though."
