Reader's letter: Lake concerns

I write concerning the lake at Balderton. I have walked around there for at least 20 years during which time I have seen pipes and supermarket trollies sticking out of the water.

I do not believe this is safe for any sport and it’s not clean. I also believe we are being told what the people who think it’s a good idea want us to believe.

I only have to walk down my garden path to disturb wildlife, which speaks for myself.

And, if kayaks appear in situ I’m sure this will grow in size, ice-cream sellers, more cars, etc, so please, don’t tell me nothing will be ruined.. that’s taking the public for idiots — M. CLARKE, Newark
