78 new coronavirus cases reported in Newark and Sherwood today (Saturday, October 9) according to Public Health England
A total of 78 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Newark and Sherwood, according to the latest figures from Public Health England.
It takes the total number of cases in the district since the start of the pandemic to 14,578.
In Nottinghamshire, excluding the city, there have been a total of 108,579, up 598 on the previous day.
In Ashfield there have been 17,725 cases (up 123) Bassetlaw 15,913 (up 101) Broxtowe 13,867 (up 63) Gedling 15,955 (up 68) Mansfield 15,787 (up 85) Rushcliffe 14,754 (up 80) and Nottingham city 50,277 (up 112).
In the last seven days there have been 538 positive cases recorded in Newark and Sherwood, which is up 32 cases on the previous seven days.
In the latest 24-hour period, no new deaths have been reported in Newark and Sherwood in 28 days of the person testing positive for the virus, taking the total to 221.
According to the latest public data, 8,081,3900 (up 36,060) patients in the UK have tested positive and 137,541 (up 127) people have died within 28 days of positive test.
The number of people vaccinated with the first dose up to October 7 is 49,101,734 and the total for the second dose is 45,107,185.
