Nottinghamshire County Council released the latest updated road closures list affecting Newark and Sherwood area due to flooding from Storm Henk





County council has released the latest list of road closures today (January 9).

Nottinghamshire County Council advised that some roads might have reopened but encouraged drivers to observe closure signs.

The list was released today at 11.48am also mentions emergency school closures as a result of bad weather.

The roads in the area mentioned on the list are: A57 Dunham Bridge; Fledborough Road, High Marnham; High Street/Proctors Driver, Girton; A1133 Girton; Low Street, Collingham; Main Street, Bleasby (Gypsy Lane to Gibsmere); A617 at Kelham; Farndon Road, Newark.

Drivers are asked to exercise caution.

In case of severe weather, schools may be forced to close at short notice, however, all schools have their own arrangements to contact parents and carers.

The decision to close a school is taken by the headteacher after considering some factors including the health and safety of staff and pupils, staff availability and road conditions near the school.
