Newark Advertiser reader letter: Legacy will end up a problem for our MP
So, Robert Jenrick marches on in the lead yet again in the Tory leadership contest.
His interview with Beth Rigby of Sky News after the second round of voting proved why.
With Mel Stride gone without so much as having a launch event and James Cleverly claiming to have big membership backing even though he's as dull as a winter morning, it seems to me as though Jenrick is proving quite a hit.
Back to that interview with Beth Rigby, I lost count at the number of times he used the word ‘c h a n ge’!
It reminded me so much of David Cameron back in 2005. The big problem for Jenrick though is, even though he escaped Cabinet before the Tories went into freefall, he's still got a legacy that will stick out like a sore thumb come the next election. — Geoffrey Brooking, via email.
