Litter squads to the rescue

The number of complaints about litter and fly-tipping in Newark and Sherwood has dropped thanks to the work of two teams set up to deal with the problem.
The Litter Hit Squads each have a driver and loader whose job is to clear litter from areas outside Newark and fly-tipping from anywhere in the district. Each team costs £48,000 a year to run.
