Low turn out at health meeting
Around 30 people attended the first public meeting to be organised by NHS Nottinghamshire County over their healthcare review last night.
Some complained about the location of the meeting, held at Newark Showground’s Cedric Ford Pavilion, saying it was too far out of town.
The main issues were again surrounding transport and the provision of ambulances.
A five-person panel made up of local doctors and representatives of the primary care trust, East Midlands Ambulance Service and Nottinghamshire Healthcare Trust answered questions from the audience.
The meeting was chaired by the PCT’s director of communications and engagement, Mr Matt Youdale, who said three public meetings were being held in different locations and at different times to make it easier for people to come.
