A617 Kelham Road closed between Cattle Market roundabout and Kelham, and Hawton road flooded

A busy road has been closed due to high water levels.

The A617 Kelham Road has been closed this afternoon (Friday) between Cattle Market roundabout in Newark and The Fox Inn in Kelham.

Motorists earlier in the day reported standing water on the road.

The usual diversion is in place via the Great North Road and A616 at North Muskham and Little Carlton.

Trent Lane is also reported to be closed by the AA.

Newark and Sherwood District Council has additionally warned residents that Hawton Road in Newark is currently flooded and inaccessible.
