COURT LISTINGS: Man, 43, who persistently harassed woman at her Newark address is jailed

This week's Nottingham Magistrates' Court listings have been released.

A 43-year-old who persistently harassed a woman by going to her Newark address over the space of a month, in breach of a restraining order, was jailed at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court.

Mark May, of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty to both harassment and breaching the order and was sentenced to 16 weeks in custody.

The court heard May had a flagrant disregard for court orders and had embarked upon a course of harassment shortly after he was released from custody.

He must pay the victim in the case £100 compensation.

A MAN who pleaded guilty to the possession of a knife in a public place received a sentence of 26 weeks, suspended for a year.

Samuel Phillips, 27, of Fourth Avenue, Edwinstowe, was spared an immediate custodial sentence due to strong personal mitigation.

He must pay £213 costs.
