Man arrested after car crashed into house in Newark
A man is in custody after officers arrested a man after a car crashed into a house.
Officers were conducting routine patrol in Newark yesterday (Sunday) when they spotted a suspicious-looking car driving at speed.
As officers began to follow the vehicle, it was found having crashed into a house.
All four occupants were seen getting out of the vehicle, in an attempt to run away from the scene.
Officers detained two of the passengers while a third passenger and the driver made off on foot through fields.
Additional officers were called to the area and the driver was spotted attempting to make his way through a field.
An 18-year-old man was arrested for a number of offences, including driving without a licence, driving while uninsured, dangerous driving, failure to stop, and possession of cannabis.
No one was injured in the incident and no damage was caused to any structures.
The car has now been seized.
