UPDATE: A man has been arrested on suspicion of drug driving following yesterday's serious collision in Thurgarton.

A 34-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of drug driving following a serious collision between a van and a car on the A612, Nottingham Road in Thurgarton.

Nottinghamshire Police were called to the scene at around 3pm on Monday, where the driver was also arrested on possession of cannabis.

He was later released under investigation pending further enquiries.

A 63-year-old woman was also taken to hospital and suffered leg injuries, which are believed to be life-altering.
