Man to appear at Nottingham Magistrates' Court today (May 5) charged with theft of a motorhome, disqualified driving and driving with no insurance
A driver arrested within just three minutes of police receiving a report of a stolen motorhome has now been charged.
An officer stopped the alleged offender in his tracks on Monday after it was reported stolen from an address in Bilsthorpe.
The officer was travelling along the A617 from Mansfield towards Newark in response to a separate report of a vehicle failing to stop, when he noticed a motorhome approaching a junction ahead of him at speed.
He was then alerted by a colleague via radio that a motorhome had been reported stolen that day at 2.29am.
The officer followed the vehicle which eventually slowed and came to a stop, and arrested the driver on suspicion of burglary and theft of a motor vehicle.
Ian Hall, of Kings View, Nuneaton, has been charged with theft of motor vehicle, disqualified driving and driving with no insurance.
The 47-year-old is due to appear at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court today (Tuesday, May 5).
