Man arrested on suspicion of Christmas Day burglary of Tesco Express store after tools stolen from Radcliffe recovered from van




A man has been arrested in connection with a Christmas Day break-in at a Tesco Express store.

A number of men were seen to smash a window to get into the property on Carlton Hill, Carlton, on December 25 at 7.36pm before leaving empty-handed.

A van was later stopped by officers in connection with the incident and discovered a builders' sack, crow bar and sledge hammer stolen from The Green, Radcliffe, on October 31.

Officers investigating the burglary stopped a van on Valley Road near the A60 after the Tesco burglary and arrested a 56-year-old man on suspicion of the theft of a motor vehicle and burglary.

Police have urged anyone with information that could assist the investigation to contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 471 of December 25.
