Nottinghamshire Police arrest man on suspicion of driving whilst unfit after single-vehicle collision in Southwell

A motorist has been arrested following a single-vehicle collision.

Nottinghamshire Police attended a collision at Easthorpe, Southwell, yesterday (October 24).

It was reported at 6.39pm, and occurred on the stretch of the road near to Metcalfe Close.

A 63-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of driving whilst unfit and was later released on bail.

The road was closed for some time while the area was cleared.

It was one of multiple incidents attended by police on the day.

The A617 at Averham had been closed in the early evening after a single vehicle collision.

The vehicle went into a ditch but no injuries were reported, and police were called at 6.02pm.

There was also a vehicle fire on the A1 near Coddington on the same evening.

Police were called to to help with traffic management at 8.19pm.
