A man has been locked up for attacking a woman and threatening to throw acid in her face.

Ricky Pritchard, 38, entered the victim’s home in Ollerton at around 4pm on August 15 this year, refused to leave and assaulted her several times.

Only one day later he returned and threatened to throw acid in her face.

Pritchard again refused to leave and grabbed the victim by the neck before slapping her across the face.

In an attempt to stop her from calling the police, he took her mobile and the keys to her car — leaving her to run to her neighbour and ask them to call the police.

Prichard was later discovered in his car by police 20-miles away in Bulwell, where he was found to have been driving while disqualified and also under the influence of alcohol.

He later admitted to two counts of harassment, taking a motor vehicle without consent, driving while disqualified, driving without insurance, and drink driving.

On October 8 at Nottingham Magistrates' Court, Pritchard, of Ravensworth Road, Bulwell, was also found guilty of assault.

He was jailed for 10 months.

Inspector Daniel Holloway, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This was a scary incident for the victim to have been subject to in her own home.

“We worked hard to track down Pritchard and bring charges against him — not only for assaulting his victims and breaching his restraining order, but also for the serious motoring offences he committed.

“Driving under the influence of alcohol can have devastating impacts on other members of the public and road users and we will do everything in our power to clamp down on those who place other road users at risk.

“I welcome this sentence by the courts and hope it gives Pritchard time to think about the emotional and physical impact his actions have had on his victim.”
