Man awaits jaw surgery in hospital after dispute in Balderton over bike being left in kitchen
A man is waiting for jaw surgery in hospital after he was punched in the face following an argument about a bike being left in a kitchen.
Officers were called to Bakewell Close in Balderton at around 4.40pm on Monday following a report of the assault.
The victim was struck after the dispute and suffered a fractured jaw.
A 31-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and remains in police custody.
Detective Sergeant Julian Eminson-Ferry, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: "A man remains in hospital and is due to have surgery to his jaw. We are very keen to establish the circumstances around what happened.
"This type of incident and this behaviour is taken extremely seriously. A single punch to the face can have catastrophic consequences and we will thoroughly investigate reports of this nature.
"We would like to reassure people that we do believe this is an isolated incident and that there is no further risk to the public."
