Man charged with drink-driving after being stopped by Newark Police on Farndon Road

A man was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving after failing a roadside breath test on Farndon Road, Newark.

The 41-year-old was arrested early in the night shift by Rota Five response officers.

He had been stopped after officers witnessed him speeding and overtaking other vehicles.

His driving licence was also found to be expired so the vehicle was seized.

The man has since been charged with driving while over the prescribed limit and bailed to appear at court.

The police said this was just one of five cars seized and removed from Newark's roads over two night shifts thanks to proactive policing in between responding to incidents.
