Bingham: Man's face is slashed with knife during fight
A man suffered facial injuries during a fight which saw him slashed with a knife.
Officers were called at around 12.30pm on Monday to Grantham Road, Bingham, following a disagreement between two men.
They arrested a 33-year-old man on Tuesday on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and he has since been charged.
Steven Brett, 33, of Flatts Lane, Calverton, was charged with GBH — wounding with intent — and possession of a bladed article. He was remanded into custody and will appear at Nottingham Magistrates' Court today (January 20).
Detective Sergeant Luke Todd, leading the investigation, said: "A man suffered a cut to his face following a fight on Monday.
"The victim has suffered a large swelling to his eye and facial injuries. He was taken to Queen's Medical Centre for treatment. He has since been discharged.
“Our inquiries are ongoing into this incident, which we currently believe to an isolated incident that poses no threat to the wider public.
"We understand incidents of this nature cause a lot of concern and there will be an increased police presence in the area to provide reassurance and to address any concerns the public have.
"Officers were quickly on the scene to begin their investigations and we have arrested a man earlier today (Tuesday). He has since been charged.
