Man killed in by-pass collision named

One of two people who died following a crash on the Epperstone by-pass last week has been named by police.

Mark Peter Gallagher, 43, from Warwickshire, was the driver of a Nissan Qashqai which was involved in a collision with a Saab car on the A6097, close to Woodborough Mill, at around 8.10pm on Friday.

A woman and three children who were also travelling in the Nissan remain in hospital. The woman is in a serious condition.

The children’s injuries were not life-threatening and their condition is described as stable.

A female passenger travelling in the Saab also died as a result of the collision. She has not yet been named.

The male driver of the Saab is also in a serious condition in hospital.
