A 49-year-old pedestrian from Aubourn died when he was in collision with a car on Sunday.

Mr John William Williamson was given first aid but was pronounced dead at the scene on the B1398 Middle Street, Burton, near Lincoln.

Lincolnshire Police said it appeared that he was driving a blue Ford Escort and had stopped and got out of the car when he was in collision with a black Vauxhall Zafira just before 5.15pm on Sunday.

The 34-year-old male driver of the Vauxhall was shocked but not injured.
