Man pleads guilty at Nottingham Crown Court to stabbing woman at Newark house last year

A man has pleaded guilty to stabbing a woman at a house in Newark.

The victim was taken to hospital after she was found on Bowbridge Road on July 7 last year.

She had been helped by a member of the public after sustaining injuries at a nearby property and was treated by paramedics nearby.

Fifteen minutes later, a man handed himself in to Newark Police Station, where he was then arrested.

Andrius Sidlauskas, 35, of Tudor Close, Newark, was then charged with wounding with intent.

Sidlauskas admitted to the stabbing at Nottingham Crown Court today and a February sentencing date was set.
