Mascot and volunteers from Beaumond House Community Hospice, Newark, get bag-packing at Morrisons




The mascot at a hospice helped shoppers at Morrisons in Newark to pack their groceries.

Sunshine Bear, the mascot at Beaumond House Community Hospice was joined by more than 30 volunteers who covered three two-hour shifts.

This included volunteer Wendy Brown and young people from Newark Emmaus Trust who also helped in the hospice garden.

Volunteer co-ordinator Lucy Millard said customers had been very generous and the hospice was also grateful to Morrisons.

“The hospice has a brilliant team of volunteers who help with events like this,” she said.

“I’d like to say a huge thank you.”
