Bingham Town Council Mayor John Stockwood survives motion of no confidence after he moved the matter to confidential business
A Mayor survived a motion of no confidence after Conservative colleagues rallied to his aid.
It followed a heated virtual extraordinary meeting of Bingham Town Council last week in which Mayor John Stockwood was accused by members of muting them, and recording abstentions when they could not be heard voting within seconds of being asked.
Another meeting was scheduled for Tuesday at the request of town councillor Tony Wallace, who wanted to move a vote of no-confidence in Mr Stockwood.
