Outpouring of love for Newark Husky and Alaskan Malamute cross captured on camera mimicking Nottinghamshire Police sirens

A siren-imitating dog has captured the hearts of police and public alike.

A video of Seven, a Husky and Alaskan Malamute cross from Newark, copying the sounds of passing police cars has attracted more than 117,000 views and 2,000 responses after being shared by Nottinghamshire Police on the force’s Facebook page.

Seven’s owner, Eliška Jechová, explained her four-legged friend had picked up the habit when she was about five months old, when police cars would drive past with their sirens on.

Eliška added: “It can be any siren as long as its a siren. If I then play the video back she howls back at herself as well.

“I absolutely love her habit and can’t get my phone out quick enough so I don’t miss it.”

On Facebook, the force said: “Seven, a 10-month-old Husky/Alaskan Malamute, has picked up a bit of an unusual trick…

“She’s been giving our officers in Newark a bit of a helping hand by howling and imitating the noise of our sirens.

“Thanks for all the help Seven — we hope you’re getting all the treats for your hard work.”

The fame has come as a shock for the pair, with Eliška explaing she had sent the videos to Nottinghamshire Police hoping to cheer them up — and didn’t expect a response, let alone the outpouring of love for Seven.

The pair certainly succeeded in putting smiles on faces, with the police’s Facebook post adding: “A special thanks to Seven’s owner for sending this to us, it made our day.”
