Memories of 1945 Vine VE Day party

Back in May 1945 I was living with my mum and dad, Frederick and Alice Rutter, and my two brothers, Fred and Frank, in Norfolk Buildings, Barnbygate, which was opposite Cross Street.

I was 7½ at the time.

The second world war has just ended and there were street parties all around town. We attended the party at the Vine on Barnbygate.
