The police helicopter was deployed in the search for the men. However, despite its efforts and those of officers on the ground, the men were not found.

Neighbourhood Inspector Craig Berry said: “Unfortunately despite the best efforts of officers and the assistance of the helicopter, we were not able to find those responsible for this incident last night.

“We will continue our inquiries including going door to door in the area, and I would encourage anyone with information to come forward.”

Anyone who has information should call Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 736 of November 17.
