A yellow weather warning has been put in place for thunderstorms across the district.

There is also a chance of cancellations to train and bus services, caused by flooding or lightning strikes.

If conditions are severe, there is also a chance that power cuts could occur and other services to some homes and businesses could be lost.

Newark is currently forecast rain from 9pm onwards, with temperatures dropping to 20C.

The Met Office encourages people to avoid water outside, stay a safe distance from trees, poles or metal objects and avoid activities such as golf, rod fishing or boating on a lake.
