Festive family fun promised at Newark Palace Theatre as Christmas panto Snow White set to take to the stage
A festive fairytale adventure will retell a favourite childhood story with a big splash of pantomime fun this Christmas at the Palace Theatre, Newark.
Snow White will be on stage until Sunday, December 31, and families and audiences of all ages are invited on the magical journey through the enchanted forest.
The Jordan Productions show stars an extraordinary cast featuring Mark Siney as the delightful Dame Dotty, Dave Bibby as the hilarious Herbie the Huntsman, Cait O'Malley as the charming Snow White, Anna Stolli as the wicked Narcissia, and Ben Boskovic as the dashing Prince Simon of Sofaria.
The spellbinding spectacle promises a thrilling experience, bursting with live music, dazzling costumes, breathtaking sets, awe-inspiring special effects, and loads of laughter.
Mary Siney, who plays Dame Dotty and previously appeared at the Palace as Sarah the Cook in 2021’s Dick Whittington and his Cat, said: “I’m very excited about coming back to Newark, I loved it the first time so it’s nice to be back again and I’m looking forward to seeing the friendly audiences.
“The best part of panto for me is making people laugh; people need a bit of light relief around Christmas time which can get hectic with shopping and preparation, so I like to give everybody a good time and let them relax for at least a couple of hours before they go back into the rain and out shopping again.”
Last year’s Cinderella, also produced by Jordan Productions, was the best-selling panto at the theatre ever, with audiences calling it a “wonderful evening” and “the best I’ve seen in 10 years”.
Rowan Cozens, portfolio holder for heritage, culture and the arts at Newark and Sherwood District Council, said: “The Palace Theatre’s pantomime has been getting better every year and Snow White is set to continue that trend.
“Panto offers the perfect opportunity to make special memories together with friends and family at this treasured time of year and I will certainly be booking my ticket to enjoy this magnificent production.”
Tickets for this truly wicked adventure start at £15.50 and can be booked at www.palacenewark.com or by calling 01636 655755 from Tuesday to Saturday, 10am to 4pm.
Ahead of the show there will be sneak peeks and videos on the Palace Theatre’s Facebook page.
